X6 5.0 exhaust

I am thinking if it is a good idea to swap to a X6 5.0 exhaust. Currently running stock on my X6 35i. Will there be a big difference in exhaust sound? Do I need to change just the tips..or it must be the whole piece?

I just had my SA do a quote for this same thing yesterday (got the quote today) when I took my X5 in for service. I want to pick up the new X6, then drive it directly to service to have the new pipes put on. His quote:

$684+tax (parts+labor)

They're going to match Tischer's online parts prices.

These are the required parts (extensions and trim cover):

getBMWparts.com powered by Tischer BMW - Your #1 Source for all OEM BMW Parts/Accessories!
getBMWparts.com powered by Tischer BMW - Your #1 Source for all OEM BMW Parts/Accessories!

My X6 has gone into production and I'm trying to find out if my CA can get the last 7 of my VIN so that my SA can send the trim out to be painted. Otherwise I'll have to wait. Oh no!

Since the exhaust itself is not being replaced, just the extensions, the original 35i exhaust tone should not change.
