WTB e53 Brush Guard or Bull Bar
Greetings from Northern Virginia. Our well maintained 2003 4.6is (just completed the $2.7k engine timing cover gasket replacement) recently had its nose clipped by an aggressively driven F-150 driver illegally passing through an intersection. Please see photos. BMW can get everything needed except the BMW Accessory "Brush Guard" (BMW's current name) aka "Bull Bar" (RealOEM.com), which has been discontinued. Both sources list them in black and in chrome, with or without the Sport Package. I have no idea if the bar itself, or just the mounting hardware, is actually different with the Sport Package. Could anyone help clarify this for me? Part #s are: 51100018007, black; 51100305701, chrome (both w/o Sport Package). 51100008553, black; 51100305699, chrome (both w/Sport Package). Current new prices listed by the appraiser (and some online retailers) are $70 for the black, $170 for the chrome; BMW lists no prices. If you have one available in good or repairable condition (ours is nearly cut in two), please message me back. I am a serious buyer. Thanks! |

Hi. I’m looking into fitting a brush bar to my 2006 X5 that wasn’t on from factory. The only bars I can find are from a 2001/2. Do you know if it will fit & will I need to find different inner fenders ? How does it attach to the car? Any advice would be great

e53 Brush Guard or Bull Bar
Beemerx65,
Sorry, I have been off the net much of April. My bar was a BMW accessory part the original owner had installed. A BMW collision center repaired our car, but neither the bar nor its mounting spacers/fasteners are available anymore from BMW. I have no idea if my bar for the original e53 X5 will fit your car. My photos may help. The expert technician repaired our bar, and fabricated the missing rubber spacers shown in the photos. The bar has one bolt extending from each of its flat ends. These bolts go through the bumper cover and are fastened with washers and nuts. The only other mounts are the two bolts that extend through the bumper cover from the inside, then through the individual rubber spacers, and screw into nuts captured in the back of the bar. The bar is purely decorative, it has no inherent strength. Please see the photos. Good luck. |

Thanks for the reply 😁
I’ve found a few at the wreckers & have found out like you said. No strength at all 🙏😁 |
