Drawtite for sale

Hi,

I have a Drawtite hitch kit for sale which includes the BMW OEM wire harness for free. It is much cheaper than the OEM kit and I just listed it on eBay. I am asking $250 on eBay but I'd be willing to take less from a fellow X5 world boarder.

Let me know if u are interested,

Adrian

What's your bottom price to X5world user?

X5world price

Hmmmm, currently it is listed for $270 (shipping included) on eBay. I could do $200 plus shipping to wherever the buyer is. I just found my receipt and realized that the harness alone cost me $212........geez, gotta love that stealer....I mean dealer.

I have an original BMW hitch for sale that is coming off my 2005 X5. Used it to tow a boat for half a year (couple of times) so its in excellent shape. PM me if interested. I know I paid close to $600 for it from my BMW dealer so I'm looking for $450 plus shipping.

OEM setup

It's kinda hard to find an OEM kit for an E53 at a decent price. The dealers are mostly backordered for the part so I tried my local U-Haul dealer and they had the full hitch kit in the store and installed it the next day.

The kit and installation was actually cheaper and just the OEM kit from BMW and it pulled my sportbike and trailer really well. They sell a really good kit for the E53 X5 and it is something to consider.

Good luck,

Adrian

Did they do the wiring and does it work? I understand you need a special module or wiring harness to hook up the lights. The Curt Hitch from Uhaul woud be fine if I had to use it but I want to secure wiring before I buy the hitch in the case I find someone who will only sell them together. I can't find OEM hitch and harness at any price for the e53.

It's all good

Hey goedhart,

It's all good if you go to a good U-Haul store with an installer that is decent. I just went to the biggest one in the area with a nice shop and they ordered everything and installed it the next day. (I was in a little bit of a rush)

They sold me the Hitch, Receiver, Tow Ball, & wire harness including and extra extension so I could tuck it back in my trunk when I'm not using it. I don't remember the exact cost but it was less than $400 with everything installed.

Good luck and lemme know if you really want some pictures of my install. It should be all good though if you go to a good Uhaul store.

P.S. You shouldn't need a extra harness or module because the kit they have is self-powered and just taps off of the existing lighting wires. The BMW kit is really easy and requires no splicing......just like the sissy owners need.....be a man and splice those wires dude......or pay a pro to do it like I did LoL!
