scratched brushed aluminum trim, etc.

A few times now I have scratched the brushed aluminum trim panels that are above the armrests. I have nicked the driver's side one a few times with the bracelet on my watch or my wedding ring. I would like to prevent future scratches.

Does anyone have a suggestions on how to protect those surfaces? I am thinking about trying some of that clear vinyl material, a la invisbra, to put over it. It appears to be a bit of work to cut the right shapes out and getting them to adhere to a "brushed" surface.

Any suggestions much appreciated.

Also, what is the best stuff for getting wax off of the black trim?

Clear bra or invisbra, would probably be your best bet, If you dont want to do it yourself I am sure that a detail shop in your area could do it for you at a resonable price..... I do not have any expirence with doing the inside of the X, but a good friend of mine who is also an installer swears by the stuff, he puts it on the gas tanks of alot of motorcycles to prevent scratches from belt buckles and stuff, not to mention on the front of all types of vehicles... and if you get a quality product that is fitted properly you would not even be able to tell that it is on there... ie, no yellowing or peeling... and if and when it does start to get beat up you can peel it off and replace it....FWIW
