What is the best way to clean rims?
Just like the title says. I left the brake dust on there to long, what is the best way to make them look new again?

I would suggest going to an auto part store and getting any brand of wheel cleaner. Meguiars etc... and if it really bad use a wheel brush with car soap and scrub at it. A water pressure gun could help. If you dont have one maybe go to a quarter wash.

Here is just one thread of many, on the topic; everyone has there own
method(s)/products. I like a spritz of a decent wheel cleaner, (not left on long), a gentle scrub with a wool mitt or micro fiber towel soaked with car wash detergent, and clay, if necessary. Avoid the harsh brushes/hard scrubbing imo. "Wax" the clean wheels with your fave, and try to get your wheels clean every few weeks. Search Tab is your friend; I found the link in 10 seconds. Assuming OEM brake pads....I would recommend something strong and acidic like Meguiars Wheel Brightner. If you do go with this product, read their safety suggestions, etc. A lil elbow grease would be required but for neglected wheels, this is the product to go to...

Get PS21 Gel Wheel Cleaner from Phil at Detailers Domain. Spray it on your wheels and agitate/spread with a brush or you can use a sponge. Spray the inner parts of your wheel and agitate with a brush. Let the gel sit for an hour or so. According to others you can even let it sit overnight. The longest I've let it sit is about 2 hours. Come back and hit the wheels with the water hose and brushes/sponges. Works like a charm. Good Stuff.

P21S is great stuff . Make sure the wheels are in a *cool spot*. Let the product dwell. The KEY is to let the product DWELL
