Unhappy Sprint Treo 755p Bluetooth does NOT work with -522 BMW ULF

I have the BMW ULF Bluetooth module retrofitted in my 2001 X5 that I got from Bimmernav (84 10 6 955 522 end of life 10/05 6th generation).

I had no problems pairing my VZW Treo 650 nor my wife's VZW Moto RAZR phone.

However, last year, I upgraded my Treo 650 to a VZW Treo 700p and guess what, the Treo 700p's Bluetooth does not work well with my -522 BMW ULF module. I will go through the pairing process and it appears to recognize it, but when you try to make phone calls with my Treo, it is NOT paired with our BMW ULF module.

My friend just picked up a Sprint Treo 755p and I decided to try to pair his phone with my X5. For the life of me, I couldn't get it to work either. I would go through the same pairing process, but again, the Treo 755p would seem to pair, but when you acutally use the phone, it is not working with the BMW Bluetooth.

The funny thing is that when you turn on Bluetooth on either Treo and when you turn on the car, the Bluetooth logo turns "on" and then turns into a "headset" icon which is WRONG. My old Treo 650 would just "pair" up fine with the same BMW Bluetooth module (i.e. Bluetooth logo simply turns into a "blue BT symbol on white background" which states the Treo is BT connection is paired and active.)

Apparently, Palm had released a firmware upgrade for the Sprint 700p which is suppose to have improved Bluetooth pairing and supporting my carkits. I belive the firmware upgrade for the Sprint 700p and the Sprint 755p will work well with newer generation BT module (especially the BMWs with either the BT/Assist module combo or the new BMWs with iDrives).

The funny thing is that the firmware upgrade for Sprint 700p did fix some old bugs, but created new bugs. Thus, the VZW Treo 700p MR has NOT been released and the I just heard that VZW will not release their Treo 755p until Sept. 2007 because it needs further testing.

It is sad that a simple Moto RAZR phone can pair up with any BMW Bluetooth module with no problem, but Palm can't seem to make a proper BT driver for its Treo products.

No problems pairing either the Treo 650 or 755p to my '06 with iDrive.
