Samsung SCH-A950 (Verizon, BT, HEAVEN)

I posted this on the other site, and since there is a dedicated BT forum here, I thought I would share.

I thought this was pretty exciting...

When I bought my car a few weeks ago, I was excited that the car and my phone both had bluetooth. So I ask the dealer what's up, how does it work and all that jazz and they give me a list of compatible phones. My phone wasn't on the list. So I figured hey I'm not gonna let that stop me from buying the car.

I love the car, drive it for a few weeks, and all is well. Then I get this though in my head. My phone is about as new as my car, so I gotta try and sync them and see if it works.. I have a Samsung SCH-A950. I tried it out last week and I couldn't get them to communicate. Then for some reason, I wanted to try again. I went into the back of my car and found the bt module and got the passkey. I turned on the bluetooth on my phone, searched for a signal, found the signal "BMWXXXXX" (where the X's are numbers), connected to that signal and entered the passkey into my phone. I didn't think it worked... A few minutes later my wife had to use my phone and BAM!! MY RADIO TURNED OFF AND WE HEARD THE PHONE RINGING THROUGH MY SPEAKERS!! I was so excited.

Everything is going well. My voice activated dialing works, and this morning I called my BMW service center using my navigation system.

I know some people are having problems with bt and stuff, so I would be happy to answer any questions that I can.

-Jeff

Hey, i have the same phone and have generation 13 bluetooth on my 04 X5..
however, i'm having problems with voice comand numbers not on my phone directory
i will yell out the number and the voice recognition dials the first number on my phonebook directory

have you experienced that?

It sounds like the voice recognition doesn't understand your instructions, so it's redialing the last number it called, which happens to be first in your phone book.

Have you followed the correct instruction technique? Here's the link to the voice command manual, which works fine, if you follow it right: http://www.e38.org/BMW-03_00-Voice-Control-en.pdf
