Tom has his own shop now where he can do installs (congrats again Tom) and it is close to Crevier BMW. So EAS now has a brick-and-motar shop as well!! ![]() The DICE Silverline does it all and much faster and more reliable than my original DICE unit. You can search through songs and yes the text still is displayed and scrolls, but I find advancing through the songs is still fast. The kicker is now you can search through your iPod's PLAYLIST and the name of the PLAYLIST shows up and scrolls & also, you browse through the playlists much faster....You can hit the forward or backward arrow keys really fast and you'll see the names of the playlist show up and when you get to the playlist you want, it basically starts playing....The old DICE allowed you to "browse" through Playlists, but it was not too fast nor was it accurate. You can browse through Artists within your playlist or Artists within the whole iPod. Once you find the artist you want, you can even browse through different albums within your artist's selection. The only thing I find a little quirky is that I have created some of my own mixed playlist...for example, there is one playlist called my "Chill Mix" and it has several different artists within the playlist....for some reason, the DICE Silverline will play all the songs in my "Chill Mix" but I observe it plays it in alphabetical order based on the artist's album title and not by the original order of the playlist. I plugged in my iPod to iTunes and find that my "Chill Mix" is set in iTunes to play in my original order of the playlist and not by order of the albumns.... However, if I have let say One Republic's new album on the playlist, it will play it in the exact original order of the album. Well, I'll show you some pics of the MID Text display, but it is better to see it in person. This is installed in a 2001 X5 with DSP (I already installed the DSP convertor last year) it has updated 2004 OEM Alpine radio module, BMW OEM Sirius, and the latest version of DICE Silverline. I have a 5G (Video) 60 GB iPod and it is running firmware 1.2.3

I like his new place! I forgot to take pictures at EAS.
Anyhow, any problem with the order of the songs on your playlist? The funny thing is I have the Intravee-II/Alpine iPod interface in my M3 with Navigation and I can plug in the same iPod and it plays and display the order of the songs in my playlists correctly. I plug in the same iPod with my PC with iTunes and the songs in the playlist are the correct order and set up to play in that order. Quote:
