Dice Noise Filter (Popping Fuse)
I have a 2002 X5 (no DSP) with sirius and the dice/hd-radio ipod kit. I have had bad engine whine lately, so I purchased a 12amp noise filter from EAS to place in-line hopinh the get rid of the noise. When I installed per the instructions on the 3pin wire, i keep popping a 5 amp fuse in the back compartment which knocks out the radio display. If you look at the picture, the red wire on the 3pin is where i made my cut. You are looking at the wire that comes from the sirius receiver and connects into the Dice harness. On the 12amp filter, I connect the red-wire to the red wire on the bmw side. Then the blue wire to the dice side. Then ground the black wire to the body. Anyone done this before?

Have you tried calling EAS?
Generically speaking, you have cut the correct wire for the filter. As to whether the inline filter is red in/blue out or blue in/red out you'll have to rely on the directions or EAS... d- |
