Using IPhone as an IPod player to the BMW glovebox connector
I tried an IPhone 2G connected to the glovebox Ipod connector on an E46 2005 and it didn't work?! |

Is it a USB connection or an AUX/Head Phone Jack?

It is the 30-pin dock connector which is connected to the USB port. The IPod
player is used to be controled by the car radio. When the IPhone is connected, there was the warning message that this system is not designed for the accesory port... |

if you get this error - most likely your iphone will not charge. you may also have some issues with controlling.
it has to do with the change in voltage requirements for the 3g iphone vs. normal ipods |

Of course, it still doesn't work ALL the time, which can be annoying, but when it does, it works well... Anyone know if an iPhone can be hooked into an E53's iPod connector? |

Just tell it 'no' to not go into Airplane mode.
I have yet to see a device that does not make the iPhone display that message.
