Has anyone noticed that while the Roundel pictured below looks great on the monitor, when you load it into the car, it looks a bit oblong (kind of squashed really)?

2Wires Gif Extractor / Replacer can load the usw_load files from the V26 Mk3 software, and display the logo...

Is someone willing to use 2Wires program to replace the splash screen in these files, and load the software onto a Mk3? I'm sure loads of Mk3 owners will be happy if it works!!

Navman
A friend of mine tried to alter the MK3 files and wrecked is nav. First he could rescue it by removing the cd after he opened the nav.
But then he tried again and afaik it is dead now.

I don't know whether he made a mistake or the MK3 just doesn't take the new images.
The GifExtractor checks the checksum and also compares the module length.
If sth. doesn't fit, an error is displayed.
So I guess the files were ok...

Thanks for the help broknlgs24. I had installed yesterday but tried it again and to my surprise it worked. I just installed the BEV but dont like it much so I will install the v26 with splash now. This forum is great!

As we found out the nav checks the header text. Only when it is different it updates the new software.
Can someone comfirm this, too?

if this is true, does that mean that there would
no longer be a need to download to an older version
then upload back to v26?

also, any luck w/ the GIF Extractor app. issues that
i posted in post 291?

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just in time (JIT) debugging, the config file for this
application or machine (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the machine
rather than being handled by this dialog."
Have you installed version 2.0 of .NET ? If thats so, unninstall it and it will work.
I've done that and its working now.

I also had the GIF extractor problem but I just deleted it and reinstalled it from page 17 I think and it worked.
