so move pin 11 to 10 on the purple nav comp connector and if it doesn't work i'll have to assume the splice is at fault.

do you have a pinout diagram for the connector???

thanks.

Don't have diagram,

I think there are about 4 wires that go to that connector, just move the pin 11 wire to the pin 10 location and try it out. It should work. It worked for me. Let me know.

you should only need to use 2 pins on X1312. Pin 1 is for reverse light input and Pin 10 is for wheel speed input. I dont know anything about E39, but on my car (e46) the input for speed came from cluster (pin 8) the black with white stripe wire.

Mine sensor says 0 too. I retrofitted NAV on my 2004 X3 last Dec. Can anyone tell me which pins to switch if I attached a photo of my cable to the MKIV? Thanks.

i made a *uc* up!!!

i came to me that i never connected the dfahr signal wire to the instrument cluster because i didn't have the right connector at the time.

after seeing no difference following a pin 11 to pin 10 swap i took the cluster out and noticed that the dfahr wire was not connected up and looking at the black cluster connector it doesn't have anything in the pin 19 slot so theres nothing to splice too anyway.

so i'm assuming i have to buy the correct connector and stick the dfahr wire in the pin 19, but which connector do i need...

http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...=61&fg=15&hl=1

i've narrowed it down to 1, 2 or 5 but which one for sure???

and heres the link to the thread i posted on the bimmerboard when i needed help with this...

http://www.bimmerboard.com/forums/posts/136619

is it 100% pin 19???

thanks in advance for any help.

Can you please tell me your cars details (i guess E39, so just confirm the year and the engine) and I will look it up in the WDS for you.

Dwayne

EDIT: http://www.openbmw.org/downloads/84%...t%20Signal.pdf

does that help?

no but thanks anyway.

i did some checking and it looks as though i was given bad advise regarding which connector to use.

i was told to use pin 19 on the black connector but it is in fact pin 19 on the white connector that i should use.

this makes sense as there is already a wire on that pin that i can splice into.

thanks.

SORTED!!!

if you're thinking of doing a nav retrofit and you have low obc use pin 19 on the WHITE connector on the back of the instument cluster to get the dfahr (wheel speed) signal.

i left pin 11 where it was on the purple nav computer connector in the boot and everything works fine.

goes to show don't believe everything you read on the internet and double check yourself no matter how well informed the person relaying the info might seem.

thanks everyone.

You musn't have a Mk4 DVD drive then? according to my documentation pin 11 isn't used on the nav computer anymore.
