V27 ON mK3
Ive tried downgrading to v.20.1 , with no luck ( nav unit crashed). Then I tried upgrading to v27 with swaped languages and it also crashed. Finally I manage to boot original v27 and re-start the unit. The software said unit was allready upgraded ( did not upgrade at all, just re-fix the unit). I presume because I allready had version v26 ?. This means ( I guess) thats theres no diff from v26 to v27 on a Mk3. Result : Its not posible to edit the cd, swap languages from male to female, and upgrade or downgradeto perfome change. It does not work ? Why....Dont know. Any suggestions on how to get my woman back |

From a MkIII perspective, anything V22 and newer are all the same and will take your drive to 3-1/63. See http://www.xoutpost.com/articles/all-...ystem-faq.html
One suggestion would be to try to go down to V21 and then update to a hacked version of V22 or higher to give you the languages you are looking for. One note of caution. MkIII's are notoriously more vulnerable to not being recoverable from a bad OS load as compared to the MkIV. Use extreme caution with a MkIII.

You take a big risk loading a version of the OS that isn't intended for that MkIII drive. JV

Not High Risk
I have to say that its tricky but any upgrade works, regardless if it make snay changes or not.
If you see the content of V27 or V26 with Magic ISO , you can see that it has a folder for MKIII, another one for MKII, etc.... This disk is designed to work with any version. The main problem is the NAV unit, which is very temperamental, I must say. Mine in the last 4 days has crashed about 8 times, with GPS power going off. ( This happend when I swapped male & female languages). After managing to eject cd (this takes a while & patience, see threat), I just inserted version 26 or 27 , and system was restored. It took a while for the system to recognice cd...but it worked. |

Stick with version 25 for the MK3. There is no benifit to the newer versions unless you have an MK4. Only risk of joining the others with dead units. Just did the upgrade myself and it worked great. Thanks for the posts on locating and loading the software. If you have a very old version you will need the cdkey to complete the upgrade. I found everything I needed here.
