Weird v.27 NAV problem - 'de-install' possible?

Hey guys,

I'm from Sydney, Australia and just installed the v.27 version of the NAV software.

It looked as if it went ahead without a hitch, but then when you run split-screen mode, the data it offers is in the format "City, Street Name". Before I upgraded it was "Suburb, Street Name". Obviously the old format was much more useful as "City" is constantly "Sydney" - I would prefer the system tell me what suburb I'm in like it used to.

Did any other AUS members have this problem when they upgraded?

And if I want to change it back can I just re-install the v.26 disc? Or does the fact that I've already installed v.27 pose a problem?

Thanks in advance.

Hey,

I updated the software a few nights. And found the navigation doesn't show suburbs anymore, just like you described up top. If you want to change it back to V26, just use the same process as you would for the update. Hope it helps

Thanks for that.

Have you actually tried a downgrade though? I'm only a little hesistant 'cause the thread that came up when I searched for 'downgrade NAV' described problems with going from v.26 to a lower model (like v.24).

I'm also using Version 10. But when I was running the same disc on v.26 & v.25 it used to show the suburbs so I don't think it's an issue with the Navteq disc.

Just to let you know a few things may go wrong when you revert back from v.27 to v.26. You may lose the warning sign at the beginning, it may also convert your ft measurement to yards, and the emergency option may be removed...just to name a few.

I can confirm in the UK that exactly the same issue has surfaced with the V27 update. I have lost the minor towns and villages that used to display (same as major city suburbs) - now just get the nearest major city which is a complete pain in the rear.

I think I am going to revert back to V26 3D toggle - unless anyone can say what other changes have been made in V27 that would mean keeping it is a must.

I HATE any kind of functionality downgrade - wonder who's brainwave this one was?

Can anyone else in the UK that has upgraded confirm this to be the case with their systems?

I haven't noticed it, but will have a look tomorrow. It's not really something I use but I'll check it out.
