Upgrading from CD MkIII to DVD Mk IV

Upgrading from Cd to DVD MkIV. At present I'm on Version 17.1 software, would I need to update my software to use the DVD or is it still plug in and play?

It has been aforementioned on this site that the MkIV is pre-loaded with the latest version of the OS, so you'll be good to go. Just remove the III and slide in the IV.
