help with tuning on monitor backlight of x5 3.0d sport

Please help
monitor of my X5 04' 3.0d doesnt have backlight, can't figure out how to turn the light on, can still faintly see the monitor (tv, radio stations, etc) with help of outside light source (overhead light). everythings working ok except that i have to turn on the overhead light at night to be able to see whats on the monitor. any advise greatly appreciated.

There is no setting to turn the backlight completely off. Either the backlight 'tube' has failed or there is a bad connection in the display. If it's covered under warranty take it to the dealers, otherwise you will have to get a new monitor (or try and repair the one you have).
