Question MK4 reads Navigation CD but not DVD?

Sorry, this is a first post. I've searched through the archives here to no avail, so here it goes:

On my '01 M5, I swapped out the MK3 for a Ebay MK4 unit from Lithuania. I've updated the firmware from v23 to v26 to v27 and back to v26. I've pulled fuses 56 & 58 to no avail. No matter what I do, the MK4 unit refuses to read the Navteq DVD. I have tried originals and copies, but they're all the same : "Cannot read CD/DVD".

Funny thing is that the CD's are reading fine. I kept the navigation CD from my MK3 unit, and it works perfectly in the MK4. It's only when I pop in a DVD that it fails.

Has anyone else had the same problem?

Thanks,
-joe

If you hit the MENU button and the go to SETTINGS, what are the numbers in the top right hand corner of the screen? If on V27 then it should be 4-1/70.

Yup, when I had the v27 installed, it definitely said 4-1/70. The unit also has the DVD logo on the front faceplate. It just doesn't seem to want to read the DVD.

What is the color of the label on the DVD? The one with greenish color label is for the MOST-bus vehicles (such as the new 5 and 7 series), and the one with the blueish color label is for the i-bus vehicles (such as the X5). They are not interchangable.

Yup, it's blue. DVD I tried was a 2002.1 version. Blue, not green. Thanks for all the clues, though. This one may be a tough one to figure out...
