What happens if I update my Nav?

I was thinking about updating my nav with the software that I found on the forum but how will that effect my Euro spec. car?

Will the system still work on my car? Will I still have the same menu? With TV mode and everything else that we in Europe have that you dont have in the US?

Is it possible to go back to the old software if something f*uck up?

Someone that knows?

What version are you on now?

Hit MENU and the SETTINGS and look in the top right hand corner of the screen. It should say something like 3-1/XX. What are the "XX" for your system?

That is version 18.2. If you load V22 or higher it will take you to the latest version for the MkIII, which is 3-1/63. The language packs and settings will not change. Those are coded into the nav unit and will not change unless the dealer recodes the unit.

There are risks in doing an update on your own, and more so on a MkIII than a MkIV. However, issues are rare.

That was a quick answer! I downloaded V.24, will that work?

Will I need a KeyCd?

Yes, V24 will work to take you to the latest (3-1/63) and no you will not need the KeyCD since you are already on a release that has split-screen.

Okey, then you are excused

But I could not get it to work. I turned on the ignition and everything. But after puting the software in it just ejected after like 10 sec.

What have I done wrong?

Where did you get V24, what burning program format is it in, and how did you burn the disk?
