X3 sat. Nav

Hello to all, as a new member to the site i must say i think it is first class, plenty going on and loads of info,I drive a 2005 3d X3 Sport M, after the initial dissapointment with the extra firm ride ,we are getting used to it, super on our windey roads here in the UK, the performance is great as is the MPG.
I need some help to upgrade my Mark 4 sat nav with the V271, as i do not have the knowledge to burn the required disk, can someone loan me one, or sell me one, also is it worth the upgrade, what are the differences?
Can it be reversed if not happy?
Has anyone copied the latest 2006/2 DVD? Do they work?

Thanks to all, keep up the good work,Derek

Burning the CD is easy - you just need some CD authoring software or even download a demo version of Alcohol120% or similar.

Now, being in the UK also, I just want to warn you about V27 or V27.1 - if you are used to the fact that on your nav system currently, you get village/suburb info in the RH pane of the split screen, with V27 you will only get the nearest major town. Fine normally, but if you break down or need to know where you are (as opposed to where you are NEAR) then V27 can be a real pain.

Personally, I have stuck with the 'hacked' version of V26 which gives the perspective view.

I suggest you think carefully before you do upgrade as going back can be problematic - if I hadn't been 'too eager' to get Perspective Mode, I would wait until the rumoured V28 gets released so long as it fixes the real issue I have regarding villages/suburbs.

PM me if you need more info, UK specific etc...

Mark.
