Here are some the instructions from Richard:

3) Download the following files into one folder:
a)
POI Convertor
b)
ASCI to IDX/URL Mk4 convertor
c) All the files from
Here
4) Run the POI convertor on the .ASC file from Pocket GPS world, save it as a TomTom ASCII (*.ASC) file. This changes the structure slightly.
5) Run the asc2idxurl_mk4.exe program from the command prompt in the folder you downloaded everything to, make sure that there is only one .ASC file, the one saved from the POI convertor. Use the following command line : asc2idxurl_mk4 ENG CAMERAS
6) Rename CAMERAS.IDX to 0079.idx
7) Rename CAMERAS.URL to 0080.url
8) Modify the ISO image with these steps:
a) Add camera_splash.jpg to the "\TPD\Icons" folder (I'm not yet sure if this is required, I don't think it actually works for the MK4, but do it anyway for now).
b) Add POI_CAMERA.PNG to the "\TPD\nccBeu_eu_20050726\ICONS\RR" folder.
c) Add POI_CAMERA.PNG to the "\TPD\nccBeu_eu_20050726\ICONS\NAVIOX" folder.
d) Overwrite the ENG.LSC file in the ""\TPD\nccBeu_eu_20050726\ENG" folder.
e) Add 0079.idx to the "\TPD\nccBeu_eu_20050726\ENG\TABLES\0" folder.
f) Add 0080.url to the "\TPD\nccBeu_eu_20050726\ENG\TABLES\0" folder.
g) Add SF_CAMERAS.HTM to the "\TPD\nccBeu_eu_20050726\ENG\SE" folder.
h) Add ST_CAMERAS.HTM to the "\TPD\nccBeu_eu_20050726\ENG\SE" folder.
9) Burn you modified ISO image to a DVD-R.

This should solve your problem.
i'm using lupitos wizard to get all the files already but when it comes to actually using the dvd in the car all i get is "no map dvd found".

so i'm assuming the burning process isn't correct so either the dvdr's i've got are crap or my burners broke, but which???

thanks.

He IS using a +r and burning at 2.4x.

Have you got anywhere with Kprobe? Do other discs you burn in work in other PCs? You mention the direct copy of 2006/1 doesn't work in other PCs but reads in the burner...

Try other speeds eg 4X. Maybe the media doesn't like to be burned at 2.4X.

I made my discs at 4X and some even at 8X and they are fine in the car. I've had failed burns at 2.4X before.

kprobe came back with the following results...

Date : 23/06/2006 11:37:48
Model : 0-0-0-0 TSSTcorpCD/DVDW SH-S162A TS01
Disc : DVD+R , MCC004 [Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation]
Speed : Max
ECC blocks sum (PI/PIF) : 8/1
Scanned range : 0 - 16777169
Sampling count : 0
Errors : 0
PI Max : 0
PI Average : 0.0
PI Total : 0
PIF Max : 0
PIF Average : 0.0
PIF Total : 0

this was on the 2006/2 speed camera dvd, is it showing no errors???

because the pc's new i've never tried buring anything else but will try this and will also try burning quicker.

thanks.

You need to run Kprobe at 4x and click check size before running.

Hi everyone.

Lupito.

Does your file include Sweden? Wizard version since my computer skills are limited :-).

If not the Swedish speedcams can be downloaded from here:http://www.poidatabase.se/download.htm

You should mention that Kprobe works correctly only with Lite-On DVD burners (and rebadged Lite-On drives). For other drives you should use one of these: http://www.k-probe.com/kprobe-k-probe-alternatives.php

HI,

I am a new member of this board and are delighted about your POI radar functions.
I have the original BMW 2-2006 High DVD and would now import the POI radar function, first time for my country german.

But now I have seen that it gives a radar map about 15.000 radar station for europe. This should be based on google map.
My question is now if it is possible to convert this database for our Mk IV navi system? Then we had the complete europe country with radar information.

For tomtom go it gives a europe database too - you could see it here. KLICK
The database is the current database, it will change everyday.
Is it possible to convert this database for our Mk IV navi system?

Thorsten

Hi,

I am from Germany, have the DVD 2006-02, and I cant seem to get this poi thing to work.

I have a lot ov2 files with pois and want to have them in my navigation system now.

I read the help from RichardP1, but as I dont download the pois from Pocket GPS World, I doesnt help me. I also read on the homepage http://poi.ravestation.net/mkiv/index.html , but as the english is that bad I dont understand that either.

Now can anyone give me an understandable tutorial, how to combine ov2-files with the BMW navigation system? Thx.
