How do I disable TV blankout screen?

Howdy folks,

A while ago, I found some instructions on how to override the safety blue screen from blanking out the TV when driving.

Has anyone got that information handy?

Thanks!

Depends heavily on the year of your car. If you have a MKI, you can try this:

look for enable TV while driving

If you have a higher Nav unit (MKII, MKIII, or MKIV), you'll need a TV in Motion adpater for your TV cable. I got mine from bimmernav.com, a few years ago.

Thanks for your response.

I am rethinking exactly WHY I would want to be watching TV when driving.

So maybe I will leave the standard blank out screen alone because I really don't want to have an accident due to being distracted by the TV.

We have a TV in Motion module available on the site:

Dietz TV in Motion Interface - 1270

Of course we do ask you practice safe driving for yourself and others on the road.
