I think I screwed up my friend's Nav!!!

Today I went and help my friend E46 M3 2001/03 small screen nav to update the V27 OS. Everything went smooth and final step press OK to reboot! After the system reboot and it says "Please insert key CD or Version 17". What does it means? Am I missing anything here? First of all I'm not sure which version is his Nav system, but definately it is not a DVD ROM drive unit.

Try it. That's what the computer is looking for. Says it right on the screen.
