Navgiation updater v29.1
This is my first post and just joined up, so sorry if im asking a stupid question. I've just downloaded the v29.1 file and put it on CD & DVD to update my car (e60). But when i put the DVD or CD in nothing happens, it just sits there. I've only waited around for 2 minutes but i dont know if im doing something wrong. I'm using the newest verison of ClondCD My current software is v28 Could someone help me see what i've done wrong. Thanks. |

Taking your post at face value, you are not supposed to "put the file" on CD, you are supposed to burn a CD with the image contained in the file. It is not exactly the same thing.
To avoid doubt, strictly follow instructions from ccfj1 in this post (just read CD where it says DVD): http://www.xoutpost.com/navigation-system/32266-2007-2-how-do-i-burn-disc.html You should wait for more than 2 minutes. When working, 2 minutes are hardly enough for the process to complete. When not sure it is actually working, ten minutes is the minimum before giving up. |

Hi thanks for your reply, the CD is burn on with cloneCD and i've followed everything that method said.
I'll try leaving it on for longer, but there is no sign of anything happening - even the DVD drive sound like its stopped spinning. That why i was wondering if it works with e60's? |

I am sorry. I had not paid attention to the car you were refering to. Navigation software updates are not meant for I-Drive cars. Your E60 is an I-Drive car.

Nick,
use imgburn, Download it, then install. Open ImgBurn Menú Mode - ISO - Write In "Source - select a file..." - click on the icon with the yellow folder Select "Image_file_name.ISO" - Open In "Destination" it will show the model of DVD recorder, if you have various select where you want to record. In "Settings - Write Speed", select "1x" (I go no higher than 4x speed) Put a blank DVD into DVD recorder and "ImgBurn" will activate the gray button bottom-left to record it ImgBurn : http://www.imgburn.com/ Hope this helps.

Glad you decided to join us. Have fun. One suggestion though. Before you start fooling around with your ride you might want to take a look around the e60 site and get yourself up to speed. http://forums.e60.net/index.php?show...oftware+update. Ask your self a few questions. #1 What are the benifits of the upgrade? #2 Are there any dangers from my installing upgrades? #3 Can i afford the cost if i screw up? #4 Can the dealer do this upgrade for nothing? Aint trying to discourage you. Just want you to count the cost before making a mis-step you may regret. Quote:
