newbie with a noob question, thanks guys!

I'm new to this forum, and I want to know some noob question about the navigation system. I have a 2003 E46 M3 with OEM navigation system. I want to know what system do I have and what version.

I checked the menu and setting, on the top right hand side says.... SW 4-1/80 ...does this means I have the MK4 system? but which version? do I have to update to the latest version?

thanks

Yes, you have a MK4 with version .80 of firmware. This is upgradable up to a .00 with v31 disk that circulates around this forum...

You probably burnt a bad disc with errors on it that corrupted the loading process.
Burn another disc, test it properly (disc scan, error count) before using it. You'll find burning at disc speeds supported by the blank media you use give the best results.
I always check quality after a burn using Nero CD/DVD DiscSpeed, it gives a comprehensive quality report.

V31 contains bug fixes and ability to read the new dual-layer dvd maps. There are no differences you can 'see' unless you use the latest 2008 usa or europe map disc
