Hi, I have an E46 with SW4-1/40 V24 Sat Nav. Does anyone know what version I can upgrade to. Unsure after going through Version threads what my system will handle. Once upgrade then need to upgrade Maps for Australia or at least Victoria, Australia.

You can use Ver.32 which will give you 4-1/00 (4-1/100). The update CD costs about $10 at a US dealer. don't know what it is in Oz. You might contact a guy near Melbourne for some help. He posts on the e38 forum of bimmerboard.com under the name "farnarkler" (Terry Grey).

Thanks Roy in GA, I had jumped up the Ver. ladder after I located Ver. updates at the end of each thread and was starting to query what to do..started reading Ver.32 thread in detail and got the gist around page 6. Will seek out "farnarkler". Many thanks

Hi! I have question about v32 update. I want to update my MK4 DVD navigation on BMW e46. I don't have a Panorama view in my navigation, i checked in menu hidden functions also. So I want to ask which version of this hamepage Home i need to update. BMW Navigation OS - v32 (Original) or BMW Navigation OS - v32 (Night Mode, Camera Alerts, M Logo)?
I would like to get a panorama view and also a night mode.

Thanks!

Hi Guys,

I downloaded and burnt v32 today (the nightmode one), using ImgBurn at 1x speed. Followed the instructions in this thread, put the CD in it kicked off and then screen went black. Waited about 10 minutes and nothing, still black. Turned off key and back on again and the screen came on but very very basic graphics.

Now I can't eject the CD from the Nav unit, it sounds like its constantly trying to read it. I tried the first method in this link but to no avail.

Any ideas on what i can do? I have a MkIV unit which was on 1/40 beforehand.

EDIT: Managed to get the CD out, I actually unbolted the NAV unit in the boot and tilted it on the side so I could get access to the plugs, just pressed Eject and it popped out.

I then re-burnt the CD at 10x speed and all went well.

The first one you cite is an official BMW release, the second one is not, but rather something customized by a user. Up to you really.

NEW USER

Hi, so I've had a '99 528i, lost it, but the nav OS wasn't with the latest OS, I got it back in '07... anyways, I have a '04 E53 with MKIV I assume, my nav system reads 4-1/20... or something like that, and from prior posts I have a VERY old OS...brought the SAV in Jan of 2013 from a private seller who never used the navi because he said it drained his battery.. I felt however that it was perhaps his screen and not the system so I swapped his ink blemished screen out with my unblemished screen. Suposedly when he had it plugged it would drain the battery "within a few days".

My whole point of my post is if I should update the navOS, and I do want the custom splash screen... there are too many pages to read to follow this discussion and if I should update do I use a blank CD or DVD? Where do I get the new maps from? the one in my nav currently is a 2002 map.

Thank ANYONE for some insight
