Sat nav stopped working after flat battery

Please can anyone help me. I recently had a flat battery (needed a new rsr)and after I put the charger on boost, the sat nav system has stopped working? I have a MK3 unit fitted. It still accepts the cd and tries to read it, but soon ejects it, however I did notice the little led light does not light up or flash when its trying to read it like it used to do. The display in the car has sorta chaged to what i can describe as an 'avg' basic display, the fonts and logo's have changed to like an 'order' version??? I had the unit looked at and the guy says he cant find anything wrong with it. Can anyone please help me with this frustrating problem??
