Setting Navigation Address Book Over Countries/Discs Questions?

Hi All, first post to this forum although I have been lurking for quite a while.

2001 European BMW E39 M5 with the Mk3 Nav system, wide screen display, V63 software.

I currently have a UK disc in it, the 2007-02 Navteq CD which appears to have some top-level road mapping of most of the countries in Western Europe.

Soon, Iím taking a trip to West Germany, driving through the UK, France, Belgium and Germany.

Iíve ordered some Nav discs off ebay, Iím told they have a disc for each country Iíve mentioned above, so Iím going to assume that each country disc has a street level map for its country, and then a main road level for the rest of the countries in Europe?

So, prior to leaving I want to setup my cars address book with my various destinations and stop off points, these will include address in each of the above four countries.

For each point to be saved, I think I will need the map disc for that country in, in order to get the street level mapping and address I need.

So, I guess my questions are-

1) Is my assumption that main road mapping for the other countries in Europe is included on each map disc?
2) If I insert say, the Germany disc, set my address book up for a location in Germany, and then put the France map in (as Iíll be docking in France) will the system be able to navigate to that location using the France map (until I leave France) or will it require the Germany map?
3) Will the system remember the address book locations despite frequent map disc changes? And the favourites being set as locations on different discs?
4) On the mk3 system, is there any way to input a destination using its latitude and longitude co-ordinates?

Obviously this wouldnít be a problem with MK4 nav, but I donít want to upgrade to that just for this trip.
I also donít want to be caught out mid trip with the car forgetting its address book locations or some dodgy change discs problem catching me out, hence forwarned is forearmed, and this is why I have posted here. I could probably trial and error this when the discs have arrived, but Iíd rather get some first hand experience.

Thanks for all help

1) yes, that is pretty muich right
2) yes, it will navigate as far as it can on using the roads on the map. Similar to if you selected a location 1km away from any road in the UK: the location is off the road, the nav gets you there as close as possible using the roads that it knows about.
3) Yes, all locations are remembered by lat/long, and the text that you enter. You can store any world-wide location in the nav provided the repsective map disc is inserted at the time.
4) No lat/long entry is possible on the BMW system. Only address or cross-hairs on the map

Once you get the map discs of other countries, try it out at home! You can always set your car temporarily to another country provided you have no GPS signal - so unplug the antenna, or park in your garage,

Just to close this thread off completely, i have recieved the European discs now and tried out what i suggested above.

In the example of putting the Germany map in, setting a Germany location in the address book, and then changing to the France map and attempting to navigate to the address book location in Germany-
1) It works if the address is near a main road/ruote/feature, for example i am staying at a city hotel and this location was no problem.
2) However, you get an 'Address not on CD' error if you try to navigate to a saved address that is in the middle of no where, like a country hotel i had saved.

Works for me As long as i'm going in the right direction through France towards me destination in Germany all is ok, and when in Germany i switch maps to the Germany disc and navigate with better fine tuning.
