A friend (on my recommendation) has just bought a Hybrid TV Module from a 'used parts dealer'. The module has just arrived and it looks like someone was very ham-fisted when they unplugged the antenna cables because both the outer metal rings surrounding the insulator are missing, and the inner pins are bent over inside the insulator - both in the same direction too!
Dealer has said just to straighten out the inner pins, but there won't be any way for the antenna plugs to latch on, even if the straightening operation was successful.
Does anyone know if it's feasible to replace both the SMB connectors on the VM? I haven't ever opened one up, and this one he has bought is covered in anti-tamper labels - he wants to get a refund, but I wonder if it's repairable for a few quid it may just be worth keeping it as they are like hens teeth at the moment, and are going to get more difficult to obtain when the UK goes fully DVB-T.
If anyone has a photo of the inside of a Hybrid VM showing the SMB connectors, that would be really helpful.
TIA.
