16:9 Monitor - Flip Screen Problem

I have a bit of a problem with the flip down part of my 16:9 monitor.
When I was doing the Nav retrofit I had to remove the monitor to make the CD changer connections. I ordered the removal tools from BMW (only 2.50) to make the job easier. To release the bottom clips you need to flip the screen down via the eject button and you then have about 15 seconds to release the tabs. I ran out of time and the screen caught on the release key I managed to get the screen opened again and removed the key.
My problem now is when I press the eject button the screen comes down but doesn't stay down long enough to eject the CD. If I keep my finger on the flip it then stays down but still can't get the CD out.
Anyone else have this problem?
Cheers
D

Cheers John. I took the monitor out last night and discovered one of the retaining springs was badly bent and was catching on the screen when it came down. I managed to straighten it out and the screen now flips down smoothly - which is a start! However, the screen just comes down and immediately closes again without ejecting the disc.
The CD still plays and I have an Intravee so it's not the end of the world if I don't sort it but it's just annoying.
You don't happen to know which fuse I need to pull by any chance?
Cheers
D

Not off the top of my head mate, but it should be the one you installed into the fuse box when you retrofitted mate.

Hmmmmmm ... didn't fit a fuse during the retrofit. I'll try disconnecting the battery for a while but might have to leave it for a few days as I managed to run it flat last night and needed a push from a very helpful neighbour

That's what I was most concerned about last night. I'll do the proper power down procedure before disconnecting
