Why can't I upgrade my MKIII?

Hello!

Since two days, I have my E46... and I try to update my MKIII nav without success Why? I downloaded v22 and v26 images, I burnt them to hih quality CDR (Verbatim), 1st at high speed, then to the lowest possible for me, 4x. Each time I try, I put the ignition in position I, when the screen is on, I eject the map CD and I insert my v26 CD. A few seconds later, the CD is automaticly ejected, the screen saying that it's not a correct CD What's happening? When I'm reading thoses CDRs on my PC, I can see the content without problem...

Thanks you for any input,

Thomas Olivaux

How are you burning the disk? Are you just copying the files directly to the CD, or are you using a program such as CloneCD to make the disk? If it's the former then that is why it's not working.

Isn't the problem here that for the MkIII v23 is the current version?

Anything disk V22 or higher will take a MkIII to 3-1/63.

I think his problem may rest with how he is creating the disk.

Well... I don't think to be a newbie...

As now, I burnt the v26 .mds image with Alohol 120%, using the slowest speed giver (4x). As I said, in my PC I can read the CD content (not the image file, but the content of the V26 CD). I tried to burn it with Magic ISO, Mode2/XA, without sucess. I've juste downloaded the v23 CCD image and I currently burning it with the last Clone CD version in 1x. I'll tell you the result. In Clone CD, which template to choose? CDRom or CD Audio with multimedia (CDXA)?

Currently, my MKIII is still from factory, 3-1/40, so I guess it's v18 or something like that. I've the split screen function. By now, everytime I eject the map CD, any other CD i tried were automatically ejected...

See you,

Thomas

PS : please forgive my english...

I would guess that you want to burn it as a "data" cd... iow, not mp3 or audio.

As I read that statement, I see that it doesn't really make sense. My buddy told me to type that in and leave it as-is... Hopefully you can decipher it better than I can.

Absolutely correct. I had problems with mine until I made sure it was a data cd.

Olivaux, this is for you:

1.USE CLONE CD TO BURN YOUR KEY CD AND UPGRADE! I tried it with my Windows XP burner and Magic ISO- it didn't work.
2.Make sure you burn a DATA disk. Depending on your computer, it may default to something other than data. For some reason, the first time I burned my Key and Upgrade with Clone CD, it only gave me the option of DVD.
The second time, it gave me several options, one of them being a data CD.
3.The .ccd file is what you want to put on your CD. I downloaded v23 and the Key as a zip folder and extracted everything after download. There were several files in the folder, the one with the .ccd extension is what you want to put on your CD.

Good luck!
