When will North America 2010.1 High be out?

I need to order a map DVD, and don't want to spend $200 on the 2009.1 High DVD if 2010 is right around the corner... When does navteq generally release the map updates?

Thanks!

I'm still waiting too. My current MKIV 2009 DVD still doesn't show local information / infrastructure installed from 2007.

I have a "portable" automotive MS CE based GPS with NAVTEQ maps and those have been updated quarterly and are currently up to date.

About 1 year ago opened a support ticket relating to BMW maps. Their DB is most likely up to date. They just haven't updated their 2008-2009 map disks to BMW - but selling 2009 as current and not really current.

Its kind of interesting what they stated and the closing of the "ticket".

Saw a bunch of changes at NAVTEQ when Nokia bought them - Larry Kaplan is the CEO - maybe you should write to him?

The "header info" on the 2009.1 Professional DVD is:

2009.1
Continental Automotive GmbH

Content
Volume: CD_6565
Date: 13.8.2008
db: NA(2007Q3)
Area: North America
Supplier: Navteq
Version: 505.19.735.2.84
Customer: 318766610
Features: ZIP3kb feaV10(BMW)
TPD: 2008080003
SVD:
TMC: 20080721
Phoneme: yes
DBAL: V1.15V2.13V3.0V4.8V5.6V6.1V7.1

I think it's interesting that it looks like Continental Automotive produced this DVD for BMW (and based it on Navteq data). The two preceding versions had "Siemens VDO Automotive" instead (also with Navteq as the supplier).

So I wonder if BMW will have Continental produce the next version (which may or may not be based on Navteq source)?

This train of thought may not be valid but I would be interested in hearing if anyone else has any other ideas...

Edit: On another forum, someone said "I have been told by BMWNA that Tele-Atlas will be supplier for all Future Map updates including old DVD based NAV. Tele-Atlas as provider, told me release of updated discs is in the control of BMW."

The 2010 disks have been out for a few weeks now. Tele Atlas is the supplier.

Sorry, I should have specified that I was talking about the 2010.1 Professional (for 2007+ models). Not the 2010.1 High. It looks like I posted in the wrong thread
