Please help - Navigation Version Confusion 2007 e70 X5 (Pro iDrive)

Hi,

I just bought a used 2007 e70. The dealer told me there was a iDrive update available but wanted £200 to put it onto the car.

I have ready about v32, v29 etc but most people talk about Mark IV systems... what is the most recent update for my car and can I burn it to a CD/DVD myself?

Thank you so much for helping - its a nightmare trying to pick through years of posts!

Neil

You do not have the older mk4 navigation system mate, you have the i-drive (probably a ccc version), to check if you can update via the v32 OS disc.

To determine which Nav OS software version you presently have in the i-Drive systems (Navi01, Navi02 or Navi03 Boot Mounted Units) you can enter the service mode by doing the following:

In basic menu display (N,S,E,W), press down the i-Drive Controller for 6 seconds.
(On some vehicles the help text flashes briefly when it is ready)
Turn Controller 3 increments clockwise. (Increment means turn)
Turn Controller 3 increments counter clockwise.
Turn Controller 1 increment clockwise.
Turn Controller 1 increment counter clockwise.
Turn Controller 1 increment clockwise.
Press Controller down to confirm.
Select "MOST Devices"
Scroll down to Navigation
Use the arrow down until you get to "Software version:" x.x.x hex

This V32 O/S Disk will upgrade your Navi01, Navi02 or Navi03 to :

NAVI01 = 7.3.20
NAVI02 = 8.4.40
NAVI03 = 9.8.02
