Thanks |

A 2001 likely has the MkIII, so the latest would be 3-1/63. Any disk V22 or higher will take a MkIII to that OS level.
See http://www.xoutpost.com/showarticle-59.html for the Nav FAQ

Thanks for the reply.
Please, excuse my ignorance, but I've read somewhere that the newest V26 has some issues with 2001 X5 NAV system. Am I wrong? Thanks |

So, you think that V26 should work on MKIII?

We have V23 on our Mk3 right now. Going to V26 won't change anything right?

No, it won't. Unfortunatelly V23 contains the latest software for MK3...and kinda looks ugly for "BMW design". I really hope they will at least change the graphics.

I bought my X5 in Jan-2001 with the 4:3 NAV version. Does anybody know what is the latest software version for this kind of NAV system or is it the disk V22 that UCrewX5 mentioned? Any suggestion where I can get the latest software version? Thank you very much for your help, guys.

The software version of the nav system is independent of the screen itself. It's all based on the nav drive that is located in the left rear compartment. Based on the year of your X5 there is a 99.99% chance that you have the MkIII drive. The highest OS level you can take that drive at this time is 3-1/63, and any disk that is V22 or higher will take your drive to that release level. See http://www.xoutpost.com/navigation/94...ystem-faq.html for more details. Jeff
