MK4 unit No signal? I hope.

I am new to this so please be patient. I bought a used mk4 Nav unit to replace my mk3. Connected it up and it is stuck in the place where I bought it.
It will move around as I drive, ie the north arrow moves in the direction I am travelling, but still stays put.
As the title says, I am hoping it is just an antenna problem, the smb connector has seen better days, BUT could there be another reason why it is stuck like this?
I have ordered a new gps antenna to try, waiting for it to arrive.

Thanks
Rob

Oh the diagnostics show 00 satellites
And the software is SW 4-1/00 is this version 32?? or 31?

Am I doing something wrong here? No replies!
Should I introduce myself or something?
An update.. bought a new gps aerial, and it works now. I did suspect the SMB connector.

Would still like confirmation of the software/firmware version... SW 4-1/00?
And how to get spoken speed camera warnings?

in the top right hand corner of the screen are you seeing a blob of green, which would represent GPS satellites that the unit is receiving a signal from?

See http://www.xoutpost.com/articles/all...ystem-faq.html for more nav info

Thanks for the reply,
Yes, I am now getting the green up there, wasn't before. The satellite nav works ok now. Just curious about software.. I have seen some software updates on ebay, V32
according to his info
V31
1-1/80
2-1/81
3-1/63
4-1/00 Released 3/2008.

So going by that, I am only at V31. Would like confirmation this is correct.
OR could I download V32.2 anywhere, and burn it myself?

V32 contains no change to the Mk4 software on V31.

Both V31 and V32 contain 4-1/100. If your unit is showing 4-1/00 on the display then you have the latest OS on your drive unit.
