installed IE7, now media player weird :(
 

so i'd been running the beta of IE7 for months, and have been VERY pleased with it.

(NOTE: i had performed a clean install, IMMEDIATELY installing the new windows live onecare security sweet and IE7... haven't had a SINGLE virus, worm, popup window, adware, junkware, or any other malicious item or behavior on my activity in MONNNNNNNNNTHS ... people who say a Microsoft-only computer cannot be secure are correct, perhaps, UNLESS you start over from a clean install, in which case it's fantastic. done it now to four different computers.)

I just recently installed the IE7 FINAL which was released a few days ago, and suddenly Windows Media Player 11 doesn't seem to really play anything; this is especially true of embedded website videos. Just ... nothing happens. SOMETIMES i get an error msg, but usually, I click PLAY and it just goes right back to STOP again.

Thoughts?

just kidding. I'm a firm believer in: Don't install a solution in search of a problem.

My XPSP2 machines are running great, no problems. I don't have a need for any further functionality right now, so I'm leaving well enough alone. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. that being said, unless you need some piece of functionality that IE7 offers you, go back to 6 and wait for someone else to iron out all of the bugs.

That's just my .02, I could be wrong.

Why did you feel the need to install IE7? Firefox :thumbup:

cuz honeslty i like IE, and i esp like IE7 ... and like i said, i like how all of MS's new security stuff works together, nicely integrated, etc.

except, of course, for media player, apparently :)
