HELP!! I think I just fried my MKIII

Please help me out. I was trying to perform an V27.1 upgrade on my MKIII. The software was loading, and then all of a sudden, the screen went blank!! Now when I turn my car on, all I see is a black screen. Is there anyway to reinstall the software?? Any help will would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Possibilities:

1.) Reset it (@Siemens/VDO)
2.) Buy a new one

Damn, i know...

Burn a fresh OS disk and put it in the drive for several days. You may get lucky and it will complete the update on its own. You've got very little to lose by giving it a shot.

:goodluck:

Also what brand media did you guys use? For some reason, my burner does not allow me to go below 4x. I am using TDKs and it does not want to read.

Infiniti Pro printable - & I burn at 2x

There are several important things I always do in burning a CD-R or DVD - I always close down ALL progs on the PC that I don't need for the task and I switch off any screen savers.

This all goes back to the 'good ol days' when CD burners had small buffers and no buffer under-run protection. But it seems to work for me.

I do still get the odd duffer tho. My Navicomp died after I used a CD-RW (it had worked for the past 4 times) & I just burnt a clean CD-R and all was joy again
