Is it possible to get the Radio station to display while the Map is showing???

What about changing the Phone buttom to when it is pressed to come up with the phone Menu????

1. Yes, if you have split screen OS loaded (V18 or higher) and a newer generation radio module

2. No, that button answers and terminates calls if you have a phone module installed.

Split screen shows you the radio info (left) and street/city name (right)... but not the radio info and map at the same time.

Thats strange I just loaded 3-1/63 MK3 with split screen it displays map on LHS and details on RHS but when I try and display radio on LHS it goes into full screen mode i.e radio displays full screen looks like only navigation is split could this be correct?my X5 is 2006 build......I just upgraded my mates 2002 model and his split screen works properly....I wonder why not on mine? any clues?

Thanks

I am not sure about Mk-III. I do not own one. But as far as Mk-IV is concerned that is not correct behaviour. Radio stations should de displayed on LHS while navigation graphics instructions (if guiding) or street name (if not guiding) are displayed in the RHS.

I had this same problem in my MK-IV unit. I fixed it following instructions found in this forum. Basically it means going through the software upgrading process, but switching radio on and then off again after the process has finished and you get the "Press OK" screen but before you do extract the system disk and press the OK key.

I dont know if it will work for a MK-III unit.

Hmm....will try that thanks for your help.

Shit just trying as we speak I put my os disk in and its sitting on the screen where it says will take 6mins to complete with no progress bar its almost been 10mins with nothing happening can you reload same version of software? hope so this is what I have done.

Edit:-2hrs latter just got my CD out with the cog method procedure now Im burning another CD at 1X.....stuff knows what happened used that disk twice this week, fingers crossed all will be ok.

The Business RDS radio does not support split-screen in radio
The Professional RDS radio does support split screen

You may have the Business RDS radio.

Test: cycle through the various FM modes. If you can get FMD (FM Dynamic) then you have a Professional RDS tuner. If not, you have a Business RDS tuner.

Slight revision...

All New Generation radios, both Business (BM53) and Professional (BM54) support the radio-split screen mode.

The Old Generation radios (Business and Professional) do not support radio split-screen mode.
