Skyline for modded v32 firmware

Hello all,

Busy first day for me. I've modded my V32 FW and created a new skyline for those San Francisco lovers.

http://www.kodakgallery.com/PhotoVie...vfolderid=2009

I'm not sure if I upaded the image correctly. Anyways, it's apparent that the skyline "moves", it pans as the direction of your car changes. This is fine, but I've notice that one area is considerably darker than the other on the same image. Is this a known problem? How can I fix it?

Also, after I modded the skyline in Photoshop, I saved as web image, a jpeg, but not sure what the resolution should be. I tried to come as close as possible to the original file size of the original day_sky jpeg, but the quality looks like crap. Does anyone know how high a resolution I can go?

Thanks again,

Use the same resolultion as the original file. Look at the properties of the BMW splash screen to see the resolution

No pics mate.

Either load the pic up to a photo sharing web site (photobucket) or use the attach procedure.

Don't just drag and drop the pic from your PC dir, that does not work.

Correct.

Use a pic that has a uniform colour over the whole pic (left to right).

No, but if you use the wrong picture without correcting any of the errors this is what you get, since we can't see the pic then it's hard to offer any suggestions.

Use a pic editor (Photoshop) and make sure both sides (left and right) match in both colour and subject (buildings etc).

ccfj1,

Thanks for the tip, I should have been more diligent in figuring out how to attach the pic. I've attached it this time.

I used Photoshop to edit the pic in the first place and got the pixel sizes to match up. When I go to save as a jpeg, it asks for picture quality metric, which, in order to come close to original picture's file size, I had to reduce to the lowest picture quality. I also tried the Saving for web option using the 8 bit jpeg option. Is there a different option that I should be using?

And the issue that I see is that sky above the skyline is NOTICEABLY darker/lighter on the screen when panning from one to the other. If you look at the pic, it doesn't appear to be totally different shades.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Tee

This is a quick effort

Thank you much!

I see you modded it to cut out the bridge and therefore make the panning seamless, correct? I'll give it a try this weekend and give feedback.

Thanks again.

Correct, the span of the bridge would have been wrong and would have looked short.
