Congrats, MicKey!!

I think I live in one of the best places in America, and I'm just glad that my town is still a secret. We live in a small (about 5,500 people), lake-front town that is only 10 minutes from Charlotte, NC -- the 26th largest city in America. We have NO crime; the school district is nationally recognized as one of the best in the country; cost of living is very reasonable; housing is affordable (5-bedroom, 3,000 sq. ft. homes for 250K); winters are mild; tennis courts, a swim and beach club, and 27 holes with a new club house; and, did I mention, we live on a lake?

I'm glad that a Joisy town was voted best, too. I am still a Jersey boy despite the fact that I left 10 years ago. I hate the bad rap NJ has. If one exits the interstate, one realizes what a beautiful state NJ is.

Dam, if the girls weren't so good looking here I would move to where you are. The price of an entry level home in Pasadena starts at around $550k. And these are either 2bd 1 ba or 3 bd 2 ba depending on area.

No, we could not compete with your women, but not many cities could, I'd imagine. In any case, Here you go, my friend. (By the way, yours truly is the webmaster.) All the pictures on the home page are actual pictures from our little town. To see more pictures, go here. (The site's a little funky, but it does have a lot of pictures.)

I live in Chicago. Naperville (#3) is a suburb in the South Side of Chicago. Quite quite overrated, sure the schools are ayte, but everything is just plain crowded there. The avg lot size for a house is around .25acre. Unbelievable that this place is #3. I think the North Side (around the Lake Forest area), is much more ,beautiful, quiet, good schools, good amount of land around each house. What do the Chi-town folks think?

EXACTLY the same thing for Huntersville, NC (#76), which is 15 minutes north of Charlotte (I'm 15 minutes south of Clt.). Nice place, but crowded, and -- in my opinion -- over-rated.

haha.. niiice.. that's cheap... try 700 sq ft condo for 700K... but definitely like Pasadena.. especially love the houses around the Ritz... but my choice down in SoCal would definitely be the either around Yorba Linda or Newport...

If I had to live in LA County, Pasadena would be my number one choice. I lived there near Cal Tech/South Lake and just loved it. It is expensive there but it's worth it.

Moorestown is a beautiful community in Jersey. I used to work there for RCA
Missle and Surface Radar Division (Lockheed now) many moons ago.
