We recently revised our pet contract (I sit on the board) to specifically exclude certain sizes/breeds to prevent this type of thing from happening. As of 2/1 several breeds (including Pits) are banned from our condo building or any community property. First off, calm down and don't do anything you will regret. Call the police, file a police report and have the dog taken into custody. I would move to have it swiftly put to sleep and then work on a lawsuit against the owner. Once completed I would recommend the building move towards putting restrictions on breeds, sizes etc to make sure this doesn't happen again. A good way to go about getting those type of breeds etc banned is by threatening to sue the building unless their policies change. We had a close call here and that is what landed the changes.

I hate to say it, but I hope people listen to the things B and I have said on this forum. Those dogs, no matter what the owners on here will lie to make you believe are NOT fit for homes or condo buildings. Their a danger to society and the people their owners force to be in contact with them. I have believed for a long time (and enforced) a new Pit policy for my dog. He isn't even allowed to sniff them, that is how serious I am about it.
OMG!!
Dangerous (closed/narrow) minds. Not even worth wasting time on.

I love how you take an event like the death of someone's pet Maltese as a vehicle for you to try to promote your pro-pit bull agenda.

Putting an online "find the pitbull quiz" is nothing more than a mouth full of horse shit. A Pit Bull is not just an AMERICAN PIT BULL TERRIER.. But any dog that was designed for PIT FIGHTING, BULL BAITING, which includes, APBT, BULL TERRIER, DOGO, etc. THEY ARE ALL PIT BULLS..

The APBT community is not suffering because of mistaken identity, they should all be controlled. But that is neither here nor there..

Just another example of another careless owner allowing their dog to kill someone else's pet because they were not qualified to handle the dog.

But I know, I know.. It wasn't the Pit Bulls fault. Clearly the incident is the fault of the Maltese..

Why don't we delete these thread individually that ARE NOT ON THE TOPIC, hmm?

The OT was "what do I do" not "what is your opinion". So Blond/B-line/Real, just delete your "opinion" and leave your advice Or just continue and we can wait for a mod to lock it.

I feel bad for his mother losing her dog. It's a tragedy.

This is exactly how skewed you perspective is. My reply was a simple response to YOU and BOI inserting YOUR agendas.

It is a widely publicised fact that the majority of the attacks attributed to APBTs are unsubstantiated and mere media hype. Most people can't accurately specify breed. APBT has become a catch all. Convenient and easy.

Excuse me, no where did I have any agenda in my posts. I did not bring up breed specific legislation. I did not bring up breed issues other than a response to RealChef.

I simply stated that the "killer dog" not the "killer breed" should be put down.
I did not even suggest a ban on Pit Bulls in his building. I suggested a ban of "THAT" killer Pit Bull. That it be evicted from the condo.

My discussion of what is and is not a Pit Bull was nothing more than a response to Real Chef's insensitive response to a board member suggesting that his mother's Maltese was not actually killed by a "APBT" but by some other breed.

The poster did not say, "I think a Pit Bull" or, "it looked like a Pit Bull" he said, "it was a Pit Bull." and I'm sure he knows exactly what type of dog his neighbor actually had. So trying to spin this into some PRO, PIT BULL, mis information agenda is just horse shit.

My response was specific, related to the dog that killed the other dog and had nothing to do with breed until Real Chef defined his agenda to try to label the original OP as misinformed.
