Bargaining at hhgregg without willing to

So I was looking for in-ear noise canceling headphones to listen to music while riding my motorcycle. I had seen a Sony model at BestBuy before for $99.99 which was about what I was thinking about spending for this so I went shopping around town this morning to see if I could find this model in a shop. Best Buy did not have it in stock anymore so I went to hhgregg. A salesman jumped on me as soon as I got in and asked what I was looking for. I explained what I needed and he said that they did not sell the Sony but a pretty similar model from JVC for $80 JVC In-Ear Noise Canceling Headphones hhgregg.com. I was not sure about the quality of the JVC model so I said no and that I was looking for the Sony and that I did not want the JVC. The guys started BShiting me like a 'good' salesman do and in order to get rid of him quickly I said that I saw the Sony at $49.99 (big lie) on line and that I was not going to spend more anyway. I thought that he was going to leave me alone but he did not and said "How about if I sell it to you for the same price plus taxes?". I could not believe it, the guy was giving me a 37% discount right away and I was not even trying to bargain but just wanted to get rid of him. I said "ok for that price I take it". I tried the headphone this afternoon and it works really well.

Store must be hurting. Sounds like you should go buy a new big screen TV, too.

Hmmm, I'd never thought about noise canceling headphones for the motorcycle. I use regular earbuds that act like ear plugs.

I may have to try these out.

A, What a bargainer you are!
I also had never thought of noise cancelling while riding...
I have in helmet headphones in the lid I wear on the Wing,
listening to tunes, or shooting plugs while riding the 'Cane
or the old HD. I may give them a look, depending what I
can "hook into" on my old scoots.
Good buy, for you!

MD, The noise canceling headset does make a difference with normal ear-in plugs but it is not night and day. Also since I have a J&M headset cord with a ear-speaker jack I can connect this headset to my bike's stock intercom/radio/CB system which I prefer to the in helmet speakers.

Thanks for that opin and info, A...I figured it was a connection situ, and may not be easy for me, as I have the in-helmet headphones from J&M,
connected to the stock GWing 5 pin curly cord plugs system. On my Hurricane, if I really want tunes, I put my 15+ yr old Aiwa "cassette man"

in my pocket and listen to old tapes, though ear buds. Surprisingly still decent...

I've been riding less miles every year, now...must be getting older. I know my "lean angles" here in the mtns are about half of what they used to
be.

MD, I believe the cord that would provide a ear-speaker jack connection for your J&M Honda 5pins system would be the HC-ZB-S on this link.

Thanks for that link, Alain...I'll dig into it, but very low/no electronics
tech capability here, but looks like that plug cord is right on.
Otoh, wind noise on the Wing is not bad for the driver; V sits up higher
in back and gets some buffeting. I tend to crank the tunes or radio and
mute her intercom! Just kidding.
Thanks, A!
