Levon Helm, Off to Valhalla...
Only got to see The Band twice live, once backing Dylan, circa '65 or '66, and once as The Band. But they were remarkable and eclectic performances, with several big names at the time, just dropping in on the stage to do a song or two...a very different group, then and recently, that did some musical things no other group did, or has done. Helm was certainly the magnet and force of the group, imo. RIP...
