New E90 Coupe at the dealer

I was at the dealer today and saw their first E90 Coupe. Took some pix with the phone.

Looks nice. Did not see any 335i sedan?

TQ2K 08-22-2006 07:49 PM

Does the actual car look better compared to pics?

SANguru 08-22-2006 07:51 PM

I'm still not very impressed. I saw one at the dealer here today while passing by and honestly, if you remove the badges and the grill, one might think that it's a honda or a toyota. the design is very blah...

:iagree: - Yeah feel the same way, I actually prefer the sedan... Hoping that they come out with an M3/M4 sedan version...

Agree with above, it does look a little bland....I look at my E46 coupe and it still looks fresh, classic, and agressive (the ///M treatment also helps on the E46 coupe).

The Cleaner 08-23-2006 06:25 PM

what was the sticker price?

Base price for 328i coupe is 32,475, 328xi -> 34,130, 335i -> 37350. Options & packages extra.

I agree with others, the rear does look like honda or corrolla.
More pics

I agree. Prefer the sedan big time!

BTW, the 4-door 3-series is E90. The new 3-series coupe is the E92.:)

Nobody knows for sure what the sedan will look like but the word has been that BMW wants the coupé and the sedan to have unique looks, especially in the front. Also, the sedan is still very new and if we follow traditional (except E65 tradition) BMW facelift timelines, the E90 sedan is not due for a facelift for another couple of years.

I don't recall. I think it started with a 4 though...:dunno:
...and it did not have the sport package or Nav.

I'll be test driving it in a couple of days. I'll get more details. I would have drove it then but they needed to prep it. It was just off the truck.

But aren't the trim lines and engines (twin-turbo)are changing next month? Instead of 325 and 330, there will be 328 and 335.

Yes, the engines are changing and there might be some different interior options but I have read that the interior of the E92 is intended to be a little different. In particular, the wood trim along the interior of the doors. What I meant was that I don't think the exteriors of the E90's will get any changes. They want the E92 to be unique and distinctive compared to the sedan brethren.

I agree with what seems to be the majority, e90 > e92. There's nothing inspiring about the coupe... and from initial pictures, it doesn't look like the M3 will be all that aggressive like previous generations.
