very nice indeed , love the colour combo any chance of some interior shots of that lemon leather

surely. a bit of 411. 1 series cars in the US get GRAY headliner no matter waht combo leather or leatherette you get. And you cannot P1 option the car with black headliners either...so this is what the car looked like at pick up with the gray top interior (YUK)

i was able to order from BMW AG all black interior trims (headliners, A, B, C pillars, moonroof covers, clips, airbag tags etc...the items were available since in CANADA you can get the black interior! after a few hours with my tech this is what it came out to be (i remembered the x5 had black interior and so does the e46 m3 at home). xpensive mod i shouldnt really have to pay for but totally worth it.

I hate that factory gray headliner. It feels like sandpaper.
Alcantara is totally worth it.

Anyone who orders their car with this color leather should plan on doing this mod. It just looked wrong with the standard gray.

THANKS GUYS, GRAY WAS TOTALLY WRONG!!!!!!!!!!!! i think its a scheme for BMW to sell more parts!

LeMansX5 08-13-2008 01:31 PM

Are you adding any parts from BMW Performance Accessories catalog e.g. performance steering wheel.

LM, i got the pedal set and the shadowline grilles. i wanted the rear diffuser and exhaust but really want a quad setup so holding off on that, doing some research right now. body kit wise im very happy with the stock setup, and if a wide body kit comes out i might jump on it. i really wanted the strut bar too but at $900 thats a bit much dont u think????? the performance catalog has a lot of neat stuff though (the steering wheel included).

Very nice interior , like the black contrast against the lemon and how the seats are broken up with black backs

$900 for a strut bar! :wow: Is it made of gold?

On a new car with a rigid chassis like the 135i, it is only engine jewelry anyway. I would think you could put that thousand dollars to good use on other mods you would benefit more from. Just my opinion though.

I really like what you have done with your car. Can't wait to see what it looks like with the new wheels and rubber. The more I look at the black roof, the more I like it.

kirkX5m 08-13-2008 02:25 PM

ha ha ha the strut bar is CF and actually carries a MSRP of over 2k to be xact, the 900$ price tag is a "hookup" price. my parts guy tells me BMW is VERY PROUD of their strut bar, i had to pass for now :) glad you're liking the roof, its a popular one with everyone @ the center too. and yes, im in love with my alpine white/lemon combo, i got tired of tiag/black!
