£ 89 + VAT & p&p from John [[email protected]]. takes 10 mins to fit.

lift bonnet, look next to air filter, unplug connector, unclip 2 clips & 1 jubilee clip. Jod done !

6 months, 7 visits & 6000 miles and my dealer came up with replacing the gearbox, torque converter & battery!!!

Tap it with your hand on idle & see if it changes the running. Or just take it off & spray cleaner in - mine ran 90% better just cleaned which proved it was knackered.

Off topic as you say, but I've never changed anything so easy that's made such a difference.

Apologies for bringing this back on topic

I spoke to chanlon1 at some length this morning.

In a nutshell he has still not been able to look further into things & wont be able to for at least 3 weeks.

I told him that I was keen to update folk on here.

The main question I want answered was whether the data was backed & is retrievable in forum format.

Sadlly he couldn't answer this, however, it is at top of his agenda for when he becomes available, (legitimate reason for unavailability).

He is happy for a fresh start in his abscence, however, states he would like to be able to pass on any stored data if available.

As well as his legitimate abscence pvr & myself also have some commitments in coming weeks & thus some patience may be required folks.

Would this offer interest you guys?
Going by the loss of the forum and the time factor, Im pretty sure all the data from x5drivers will be lost.
I do host a few websites and host 1 other forum.

I can setup install host and configure a replacement UK x5 forum.

I have a nice domain name i can register also.

You guy’s interested if I setup a UK dedicated x5 forum.
I can have a live forum ready to go by tomorrow night. Reinstating all the previous MOD`s from the x5drivers forum.

I’ll only do this if you guys are interested in joining if i create a new home?

Let me know your thoughts.

We are still hopeful that the data can be retrieved (even if it is only one of the older backups) and already have the domains etc bought. As there are ongoing communications with the site owner, we would rather wait and have everything "properly" done.

Thanks for the offer though.

upload,

Thanks for posting - as pvr stated we have domain & intend to sort data.

Myself & pvr have significant non forum related comitments over next coming weeks & thus there will be unavoidable delays unfortunately.

I will speak to pvr again at our first mutually possible opportunity.

In meantime we are not able or prepared to get killed the rush- especially as other x boards or sections of boards exist in the interim.

Cheers

Hi guys, glad to see all the familiar names here... I haven't been near a computer in the 5 weeks I was at home and to come back to work and see that the forum had gone was a shock.

I really hope that the data can be restored, there was a fantastic amount of info built on years of experience and expertise.

Anyway, good to see that everyone is making an effort... i'm with Lez and others on the contribution front if it is required.

Turks.
