Look lets just face it they are cr*p, am on my second driver side one in 10 years, and out of those 10 years i would say 5 I never used the car other than at weekends! so even less open close cycles....

hahaha you got me hooked now, i whacked my OEM original DHC that lasted hmm 10 years into dishwasher, they came out newish looking, now gotta find the steel zip ties, not sure your everyday diy shop...

Hmmmm so i guess not to chop off tabs, temps out here don't drop to 0c ever, for that you need to hit the mountains where again i visit maybe once a year si kids enjoy snow,so the temp side of fault...
