Yep - the ball-end can be moved on the ferrule. Only a small amount...Most are like this - my old DHC wasn't though.

And it doesn't feel like the axle mount is broken. Just an overlong (and now stretched) cable I think.

Looks like a decent part. Feels robust and well made but it IS a knock-off. Is not a dirt-cheap knock-off though - about twice the price of the cheap units...
