I've found the lag to be partly due to the transmission not shifting all the way down to first gear when I come to a stop. Its annoying, but manually putting it into first seems to solve the problem.

Diesel prices tend to move with heating oil prices, so there is an increase in the winter months and a decrease in the summer months. Currently diesel is about 10 cents cheaper than premium near me....
