Got the call back from BMW and they did all the work without charge, including the bulb and oil. It was the offside frontside bulb apparently. They've updated the software on the car to the newest...

If a lamp goes, shouldn't a message be displayed in the vehicle?

BMW picked up my X5 yesterday to repair some faults in it, namely replacing the trim on the passenger's glovebox (agreed they'd do this before I purchased the vehicle but had to wait for stock to...

Ironic thing is, it's completely the opposite in Europe. Here, used petrol X5s are cheap as chips. A three year old diesel X5 will cost more than a three year old petrol X5 despite the latter having...

Paddle shift

I've just seen on a UK forum that MY2012 X5s appear to come with paddle shift. The option is "7XA - Auto Transmission M Sport Leather Steering Wheel with Gearshift Paddles" apparently and it was...

6'2" here but I have the seat relatively close compared to most people my height. Similar to jimbopa, I used to have a Mini Cooper and got used to having the steering wheel closer.

I thought you were lying or something when I first saw this thread but today I experienced something very similar - the car made the alarm noise saying lights were left on when I got out and I looked...

Yeah those are the ones I meant. No idea if they're any good or not but as far as reps go, they're pretty nice looking. They've got a pretty impressive feedback profile though, zero negative feedback...

I'm guessing you've bought off the lot hence why you didn't go for them before but maybe your dealership'd be willing to do a deal? 336s are too new to be readily available on the second hand market...

Personally I don't like any non-OEM wheels on cars so I can't recommend any 22"ers. I think the 20" 214s look best or maybe the 20" 336s for a slightly newer look. There are always the 21" 215s in...

I think the 214s look the best on X5s. Better than the 333s imo. The 336s are also really nice and can make the car look a little 'newer' compared to the 214s but overall I think the 214s look nicer.

Cool, thanks. I just want to know what to look out for when I get my 2008 E70. I can't remember what background colour it had but I'm pretty sure it was grey. :-)

Thanks David, I really appreciate your input. Maybe I should go for non RFTs. 460 is pretty much the same cost as a vanity plate or an engine chip after all. I don't mind doing some emergency work...

I think I'll probably go for run flats. The car I'm getting is a seven seater so no space for Run Flats. I know the tyres cost more but they should last quite a while. I've agonised over getting non...

Thanks! I'm looking for used genuine BMW wheels. I've seen some sell for relatively cheap providing they're not the 20 inchers. The car will be a late 2007 - I think it might be MY2008.

What do I need to to have an extra set of wheels?
