^They will certainly not look like 5000k bulbs. Those will have a whitish/blue hue to them. While the Nightbreakers are pretty much an OE color temp. 4100k I think.

Let me look up the bulb type...

I'm not sure. In my experience (back in the HID retrofit days) when an igniter or ballast has quit the bulbs don't light or do some other abnormal behavior like flickering. The bulbs are supplied...

Pretty close to OE color (4100 or 4300). Definitely more white than yellow. NO hint of blue though.
